Analysis of the Concept of Information, its Legal Framework, Libraries and Archival Regulations in Mexico

Abstract

The consistency of development of mankind can be found from documents trying to explain the meaning of cave paintings to the latest scientific, technological and cultural achievements; in other words, the historical memory of society is backed up in different libraries and archives housing both documents and material objects that show the existence of the past and that link us to the present. There are several laws, decrees and regulations relating to the right to information, and it is necessary to expose the present study on the subject in order to have legal proposals that will make it possible to regulate and resolve problems or situations arising both in archives and libraries.
