Abstract

This reflection article addresses the issue of contribution to the development of community libraries based on the social responsibility of universities. The specific case is the intervention project at the Suba Community Libraries Network, which is based on three fundamental lines: 1) University social responsibility; 2) the networks, organization and community participation, and 3) materialization in an educational and cultural project of great impact for the city, such as the Suba Community Libraries Network. First of all, the intervention project is contextualized, and some conceptual clarifications and articulating links related to social responsibility, community organization and community public libraries are proposed; then, an account of the methodology used for the development of the project is made. Finally, the obtained conclusions in connection with the intervention process are established.
