Design of a Guide to Identify and Prevent Occupational Risks to which Information, Library Science and Archive Systems Students in Universidad de La Salle are Exposed

Abstract

While performing any work activity, workers are exposed to risk factors which, under inadequate conditions, can cause a work accident, an occupational disease, and in the worst case, the death of the individual. Aware of this reality, that is no stranger to the activities performed in information teams; this investigation was carried out in order to become familiar with the risks associated to the tasks performed by the students of Information, Library Science and Archive Systems in Universidad de La Salle. The process of analyzing the specific tasks of archiving, library science, industrial safety and occupational health in the workplace allowed obtaining essential elements to identify risks. In conclusion, the article presents the definition of basic prevention guidelines aimed at having safer and healthier work environments.
