File as an Instrument for Democracy and Participation: Teachers’ Perception that Have Value on the Concept of Files

Abstract

This article is one of the results of the macroproject Archives and Democracy: Citizens’ Perceptions about the Concept of Archives, from the program Systems of Information. The objective of the research was to identify and analyze the perception of the concept and value of an archival document that the professors of the universities of Bogotá, who work on Category A research projects, registered with Colciencias have, departing from the four axes which correspond to the existing dynamic and relationship between university teachers and the archival document: 1) the concept, notion and representation of the term archive; 2) knowledge and understanding of concepts; 3) experience and use of archival sources, and 4) value, association of the concept by other citizens with other related categories. All of the above, using quantitative, descriptive research techniques, among which observation and survey application stand out.
