Abstract

This article presents the main results of the research on City-Region, as well as the relationship between the archives in the Bosa locality and the Soacha municipality, framed in the macro project developed by La Salle University, City-Region: Regional Construction and Development Alternative for Bogotá and municipalities of infl uence. The Information Systems, Library and Archive Science Program participated in the City-Region and Archives: Analysis of access to information line of this project. The overall objective of the research was to determine how information access in public records contributes to the construction of the city-region concept in the aforementioned corridor. The relevant issues analyzed for the frame of reference were city-region, information access policies, fi ling and information access through electronic means. A geographic framework was developed that would place the reader in the context of the corridor under study. The descriptive and quantitative research model established that the relationship between the archives of the corridors under study is nonexistent, reason why it may be concluded that the concept of City-Region in access to information does not exist either.
