Specialized dictionary archives: linkage and determinants

Abstract

The Dictionary is “a specialized reference works, monolingual in Castilian with English equivalents and definitions created from the terminology of the field” (Quintero, 2006). For this reason, research to develop this core theme has a particular impact on the Colombian archives, as there is a lack of specific history of this type of work in the country. For the reasons mentioned above, this article is presented here as archival pioneer of the country, contributing to the conceptual basis of our theory and looking for the exchange of experiences among professionals, organizations and educational settings, working with document management and administration files. In terms of distribution, the article addresses the step by step construction of a reference work, materials and methods used, the type of research and finally the results obtained during the execution of research.
