CITIZEN PARTICIPATION AND ITS LINKS WITH THE “DEMOCRATIZATION OF KNOWLEDGE”: AN ANALYSIS FROM THE REPUBLICAN PERSPECTIVE

Abstract

Analyze about citizen participation and its relationships with the democratization of knowledge comprise two aspects: In the first instance, the notion citizen participation is considered from republicanism and its importance in the practical democracy. In the second instance, the conceptualization on democratization of knowledge is proposed from this reflection in the terms democracy, democratize and democratization in the perspective etymologic, philosophic and cultural studies. Finally we propose some mechanisms of democratization of knowledge.
