GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS ON DOCUMENT CLASSIFICATION TABLES (DCT)

Abstract

This article describes the basic elements in the design of Document Classification Tables (DCT), the diverse models used around the world, the recommendations that can strengthen the development of Colombian Archival profession as far as a methodology of its own in the application of the Tables in each phase of archival organization, and as a final product in the stage of identification. Additionally, it intends to place the DCT in the Management, Central and Historical Archives, as a decisive element in the physical and intellectual organization of documents.
