TODAY’S PUBLIC LIBRARY

Abstract

The topic of the public library is analyzed starting from its traditional conception. It tries to provide an interpretation of today’s Public Library projected to the near future and also tries to reach a context vis-à-vis the Colombian environment. In this line of ideas, the mission and the purpose of the Public Library are described, along with the challenges visà- vis the development Technologies of Information and Communication (TIC’s), its administrative structure and the users of Today’s Public Library.
