The documental identification in Archives: a research matter

Abstract

As a starting point, the paper was done at National General File using documents from the Customs Administration Office. The purpose was to re-build and identify the evolution of this entity, its different organic structures, the functions and competences of each period in its history and the application of an organizational process to the historic files according to the filing principles (Origin and order original). It was concluded that the files are those that materialise the concept of documental series and a correct identification, denomination and conformation of these documental groups will be the light in the organization of this mounting pack, which let be evidence the state of the procedures, the right performing and the quick access to the data stored in the historical files.
