Abstract

The document is the cornerstone in the field of documentary information science. Traditionally, the external character of the document has been considered, that is, as a kind of manuscript that the human being has constructed to make possible the objectification of messages, sensations and other testimony. However, we believe that the first documents are gestated in the memory of the human being by making memory function as a physical medium that holds data, news, sensations that we extract from reality through the act of remembering and reproducing through the act of remembering or remember. In short, the document-memory is the starting point of all the exogenous documents that the human being constructs throughout space and time.
