Abstract

The relevance of the aesthetic training of information professionals is highlighted, for which a broad perspective of the concept of document, informative-documentary institutions and information systems was assumed as a premise, extending the coverage of this perspective not only to libraries, archives and documentation centers, but also to museums in their dual character of memory institutions (cultural heritage management centers) and knowledge, learning and identity building organizations. The work is developed around two fundamental axes: one of theoretical-conceptual order and another of propositive order. The theoretical axis is organized based on the discussion of aesthetic training as a transversal competence that should impregnate the comprehensive training of all professionals, but with greater emphasis on those that are linked to the management of documents, information, knowledge, where they express the elements of material culture: museologists, librarians, archivists, among others. The objective is based on pointing out some curricular guidelines that must be taken into account to enhance the knowledge, practices and attitudes based on the cultivation of aesthetics in the training of professionals in information and documentation systems. The conclusions indicate that the aesthetic training of the information professional gives greater meaning and significance to the process of mediation of knowledge in the context of the so-called informative-documentary institutions, so it is necessary to make important curricular decisions that guarantee the incorporation of this component, one of the decisions will have to do with the permanent training of teachers for the development of sensitivities, based on the decoding of narratives present in the documents that constitute the material culture.
