Good Practices to Combat the Illicit Traffic of Documentary Heritage in Colombia
Abstract
The illicit traffic of documentary heritage is a problem that threatens the safeguarding and protection of cultural assets that are part of the historical memory of the countries. With this premise in mind, the objective of this work was to analyze good practices existing in the Colombian context to confront the illicit traffic of documentary heritage. The methodology consisted of a research with a qualitative approach, using as a method the documentary research, techniques of documentary analysis of contents, supported also in a table of identification of good practices that are carried out in diverse, with special emphasis in Colombia. The results revealed the existence of good practices to combat the problem of illicit trafficking in documentary heritage, which point to the development of initiatives such as inventories and "red" lists of threatened heritage. As a concussion it is emphasized that, although the General Archive of the Nation has made a great effort to lead the principles of the archival discipline related to the documentary heritage, there is still a lack of more actions and specific training in the matter of identification of documentary heritage.
