Abstract

At the same time as organizations advance in their technological development and growth, production, distribution and management of information exponentially rise because the media of processing, receipt, transmission and distribution of information get diversified and massive in the organization; creating processes such as: • The replacement (in part) of paper documents, which are the support of transactions and operations of the organization business, for databases and structured media. • The replacement of traditional means of communication inside and outside the organization for impersonal and informal media as email, or documents sent via fax. • The publication of documents that are part of records at organization intranet. There is no control over the versions of the document (management and final), or where that document will be finally kept after its management time. • The distribution of information in the organization via the Internet without any consideration or restriction in terms of security or confidentiality of information, Regarding this background and the massive use of technology in the organization it is necessary to establish what happens with the organization essential information, independently of technological or procedural considerations. Is it possible that the paperless office is now a reality? How the professional of information can attack this information growth in the organization?
